How Does the Fall Alarm Work?

The Lifemax Dementia Alarm offers a personalised method for ensuring patients at risk of falling and wandering remain safe. With an option that allows you to record a message, it ensures you can easily raise the alarm or calm your patient using a voice they understand and recognise. It's activated via a pull-cord system or a compatible pressure detector mat, with these sending a signal directly to the alarm as soon as they detect any pressure or movement.

How Easy Is the Alarm to Set Up?

The Lifemax Fall Alarm is incredibly easy to set up. It comes with a cord and clip that can be easily attached to a patient, with the other end attached to the alarm's magnetic contact. The alarm itself can be attached to a bed, chair or wheelchair. As soon as the patient stands up or falls, the cord will pull on the magnetic contact to set off the alarm and call for help.

The alarm can also be used with a bed or chair pressure sensor mat. These can be placed underneath or next to a patient to set off the alarm as soon as they detect any pressure.

Who Can Use the Personalised Alarm?

The wandering alarm can be used to ensure a range of patients with varying conditions can access immediate assistance when they fall or wander. Some suitable examples include:

  • Patients with Dementia or Alzheimer's disease
  • Individuals who are at risk of falling
  • People with low mobility
  • Patients who suffer from confusion

With Recognisable Voice Alerts

The Lifemax Care Alarm features an option that allows you to record your own voice to be used as an alarm. This ensures that if a patient does stand up or fall, the first voice they'll hear is a recognisable one. This means you can give them instructions for what to do next, keeping them calm and unafraid. This is especially useful for those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease who may experience greater confusion from falling and more comfort from hearing a familiar voice.

Ideal For Nurse Call Systems

As well as being an excellent standalone alarm system, the dementia alarm can also be used as part of a more comprehensive nurse call system. This means it can be used together with other devices to create a larger alarm system, ensuring it can be used to detect patient movement in various locations and or rooms. This could be especially useful for care homes and hospitals, where a nurse call system is likely already in place.

Easy Volume Control

The fall alarm features easy volume control that allows you to choose how loud it is. You can also use its silent alert, with a flashing light ensuring you'll always be aware of any patient falls or wandering for immediate care and attention.
