What Is the Purpose of This Patient Tubing?
The tubing connects the canister of your suction machine to your patient, often with the help of a catheter or yankauer. It connects directly to the non-filter opening on the canister. Its length makes it exceptionally flexible and versatile, while its transparent plastic allows you to monitor liquid flow.

Can I Wash This Tubing Between Uses?
For use by the same patient, and in cases where they are not considered contagious, it is possible to wash this tubing with warm soapy water between uses. This allows it to be used for multiple suctions while maintaining appropriate hygiene.
How Often Should I Change This Tubing?
As a single use item, the six foot patient tube should be changed in between patients. It should also be changed if it begins to show any signs of wear or degradation. For usual use with one patient it will probably need to be changed around every two to three weeks (although this varies highly by circumstance).
