Helps Prevent Pressure Injuries
It's important to keep moving patients with no or severely limited mobility in order to reduce the chances of pressure injuries like sores and ulcers. Using a LeanOnMe Pillow helps reposition a patient away from a pressure-forming area, as painlessly as possible.
Moulding and Supportive Filling
Etac LeanOnMe Cushions are filled with a granulated foam that's specially designed to allow limbs to comfortably sink and then be held in the desired position. It also has elastic properties that allow the pillow to repeatedly bear weight, absorb and redistribute pressure.
How Do Carers Use the Positioning Cushion?
The versatile design of LeanOnMe Positioning Pillows make them easy to utilise in ways that will help each individual patient, depending on their own needs. For example, below is a demonstration video of an occupational therapist using one to treat shortened muscles in a patient who has suffered a traumatic brain injury.
Includes a Soft-Touch Pillow Cover
Included with this model of the LeanOnMe Basic is a soft-touch cover that's comfortable enough for long-term use, as well as encouraging healthy air circulation and helping to regulate temperature.
Also Available With a Waterproof Hygiene Cover
This LeanOnMe Basic Positioning Cushion is also available with a hygiene cover, which is waterproof and can be wiped clean with disinfectant. This cover is ideal for patients with bladder or incontinence issues, or for severely immobile patients who don't leave bed to eat or bathe.
Facilitate Easier Breathing
For bedridden patients with respiratory issues, it can be difficult to hold themselves in positions that encourage easier breathing. Etac LeanOnMe Positioning Cushions can be used to secure patients comfortably in supine poses that maintain healthy airflow.
