Ideal for Respite Relief
The BOS Stratus Alternating Air Cushion provides pressure relief to the buttocks. This makes it ideal for patients who need to the transferred to a chair for respite relief from their bed. The cushion has foam at the front edge of the cushion for a more comfortable product with scalloping for improved leg comfort.
Alternating Air Cells
The cushion is constructed of parallel cells that inflate alternately every 4 to 6 minutes. The cells are configured in an A, B, A, B, A, B layout. This means that all the A cells will inflate and support the patient, then the B cells will inflate and the A cells deflate. This means that the patient is automatically repositioned, allowing blood to circulate to the skin, and reducing the risk of decubitus pressure ulcers forming. (Please note that the use of any pressure relieving cushion still requires appropriate nursing care to ensure that pressure ulcers do not form).
