Dupuytren's contracture is characterised by the formation of nodules in the ligaments under the palm of the hand. Dupuytren's contracture is believed to be hereditary and therefore runs in families The exact cause is not known. It may be linked to cigarette smoking, alcoholism, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies, or medicines used to treat seizures.
How Should I Wash the Contracture Palm Cover?
This palm cover is easy to remove and simple to wash. It can be hand washed or machine washed at 30°C, rinsed thoroughly and then left to air-dry. This product is not suitable for tumble drying or ironing.
How Comfortable Is The Fleece Lining?
The fleece material used in this pads construction is incredibly soft and luxurious; ideal for providing extremely gentle low-stretch therapy to the contracted hand which can provide a huge amount of relief from involuntarily contracted hands.
Is This Palm Protector Suitable for Post-Operative Recovery?
Due to the nature of the fleece lining this product is not suitable for contact with open wounds, it is only recommended for use pre-surgery or after surgical wounds have healed.
