Who is this Infant Manikin Training Doll Designed For?
This newborn-size infant allows health care facilities and medical staff to teach special procedures and develop a nursing care plan for special needs infants. The Special Needs Infant was developed for a wide range of educational training, including trainee nursing students, midwives, and paediatricians.
What Does The Infant Training Manikin Model Consist Of?
A comprehensive training model, the Erler-Zimmer Special Needs Infant Manikin is assembled with moveable arms, legs, and head; internal nasogastric tube and reservoir bag, and catheter bladder tube. The model also features a tracheostomy site, external colostomy stoma, and a back panel enclosure.
What Procedures Can be Practiced on the Erler-Zimmer Special Needs Infant Model?
To support a medical training environment, the following procedures can be performed the Erler-Zimmer Special Needs Infant Model:
- Tracheostomy care (placement and suctioning) - size 3 mm
- Gastrostomy care (lavage and gavage) - size 14 FR
- Nasogastric care (placement, lavage, gavage, and suctioning) - size 8 FR or smaller
- Urethra catheterisation (insertion, placement, and care) - size 8 FR
- Colostomy stoma (basic care purposes only)
For Use With a Range of Equipment
This Special Needs Infant Training Model can be used for a variety of procedures and with a range of equipment, including: tracheostomy tubes and suction catheters, gastrostomy tubes, nasogastric tubes, and urethral catheters. Please note that the model does not come with this equipment.
Practice Bathing
The Erler-Zimmer Special Needs Infant Manikin is waterproof and can be used for practising general care such as bathing, nappy changing, and dressing care. When using the model for bathing exercises please ensure the model is completely dry before storing it.
Available as Male or Female

Includes Carry Case
To allow for easy transportation of the Special Needs Infant Model from site to site the model comes with a carry case. The case also ensures less risk of damage to the model in order to preserve it.
