How Do I Use the Lafayette Skinfold Caliper?
The Layfayette Skinfold Caliper is designed for measuring the thickness of a patient's skin. It is recommended that you take all measurements from the right side of the body, carefully identifying and measuring all sites for accuracy and consistency.
Measurements should be taken when the skin is dry for accuracy. Once you have grasped the skinfold firmly by the thumb and index finger, lift the skinfold 1cm above the site then grasp the caliper and release the grip.
How Do I Read Measurements with the Lafayette Caliper?
Measurements are displayed in clear numbers on the side of the caliper. The result should be read to the nearest 1mm, three to four seconds after the grip has been released. A minimum of two measurements should be taken at each site to ensure correct readings.
