What Injury Does The Erler Zimmer Cut with Glass Shard Wound Moulage Represent?
This Erler Zimmer fake wound depicts a cut with a piece of glass embedded in the skin. While the glass shard is fake and cannot be removed from the moulage, it offers the opportunity to practise cleaning a wound when a potentially harmful foreign object is still present.
What Is the Benefit of a Realistic Moulage?
Makeup can always be used to create the impression of a wound, but it doesn't offer the detail or immersion of a hyper realistic moulage. More medically accurate props give trainees the opportunity to practise diagnosis and care in a more true to life environment. A simulation of a badly injured patient can also help them prepare for what they might witness in a real emergency situation.
Who Can Benefit from The Erler Zimmer Glass Shard Cut Wound?
This moulage can be used on its own outside of simulations simply to teach diagnosis and care of a cut injury with a hazardous object still present. Artificial blood can also be dripped on the wound to allow trainees to practise cleaning it, and it can also be fixed onto a model to create a simulation of an injured patient.

How Do I Put The Erler Zimmer Cut Wound Moulage On?
This moulage simply needs to be stuck onto a model before use as it is already painted and has its own sticky backing, so you won't have to waste your valuable training time on makeup or other preparations. For extra adhesion, additional skin-safe glue (available here) can also be applied to the moulage to help it stay in place during longer sessions.
Is the Glass Shard Real?
To reduce the risk of injury to the trainees and the mock patient, the glass shard is not real and is instead made from a soft material. It is not designed to be removed from the moulage, and should only be used to practise wound cleaning rather than extraction.
