DeVilbiss VacuAide Suction Machines offer high quality, reliable and discreet medical suction which can be relied upon to last, but for hygiene reasons there are certain components that must be regularly replaced. This Refurbishment Kit gathers together all the parts you need, making the upkeep of this device both simpler and better value.
What's Included?
Your order of this refurbishment kit will include the following:
- 1 x Disposable canister 800ml
- 1 x Patient tubing 6ft
- 1 x Tubing 4 3/8"
- 1 x Bacterial filter
Which Suction Unit Is Compatible?
This item is designed for use with the DeVilbiss 7325 Portable Suction Unit.
What Is the Disposable Canister?
The 800ml disposable canister is a single-patient use receptacle which collects any fluids sucked up by your medical suction machine. It is a robust container ideal for collecting fluids, and features an internal splash guard and ball-float stopper to prevent overflow. While it can be washed with warm soapy water this canister cannot be sterilised in an autoclave, and must be disposed of between patients.
What Is the 6ft Patient Tubing?
At six foot, and with both flexible and transparent qualities, the Patient Tubing offers an excellent connection between your patient and medical suction. It allows you to reach awkward positions easily and observe the flow of fluid through the tube.
What Is the 4 3/8" Tubing?
The 4 3/8" Tubing nbsp;is the connection between the bacterial filter and the suction machine itself. This vital part ensures a proper, compact connection which does not leak air or pressure.
What Is the Bacterial Filter?
With an integrated filter and elbow joint, the Bacterial Filter facilitates compact and hygienic suction. The filter uses hydrophobic qualities to prevent the back-flow of fluid or bacteria into the workings of your suction machine, increasing the device's longevity and upholding strong standards in hygiene to prevent cross-contamination between patients.
How Often Will the Filter Need to Be Changed?
Since these filters are designed to keep bacteria from contaminating or damaging your device it is vital that you change them regularly. They should be changed in any of the following situations:
- If they become wet (in which case they will immediately close-up)
- In between patients/ when disposing of a canister
- Whenever they swell up and block the tube
If the device is being used for the same patient one of these tends to occur approximately every six weeks, but can vary significantly depending on use.
How Often Will the Other Parts Need to Be Changed?
To maintain hygiene it is vital you change all these components between patients. It is also recommended that you change these components around as regularly as the bacterial filter – with the exception of cases where the filter has been closed up prematurely because it has been allowed to get wet.
How Do I Look After These Parts?
The bacterial filter is hydrophobic and needs to be kept away from water. If it gets wet it will swell up and need to be disposed of.
Provided they are only being used for one patient, the other components can be washed with warm soapy water. This helps to maintain good hygienic standards and maintain their lifespan as long as possible.
Are There Discounts Available for Larger Orders?

Is Anything Not Included In This Kit?
Besides the suction machine itself, there is very little else you need to perform medical suction for your patient. Depending on the application you may want to use a catheter or yankauer, in which case we recommend the Yankauer Suction Tube, available in the following packs:
