How Does the Child Choking Manikin Work?
This Child Manikin Kit from Simulaids is supplied with two choking objects that are attached via a string necklace for easy accessibility. The two objects imitate a small hot-dog slice and a hardboiled sweet which, when lodged inside the dummy's airway, allow users to practice clearing a blocked airway with manoeuvres like abdominal thrusts and back blows. Users are able to decide where to position their hands using the anatomical reference points for guidance. If the correct CPR technique is applied, the dummy will expel the object that is causing the obstruction.
