Systam Hip Abduction Wedge

An important tool for bed pound patients or those in recovery from surgical procedures, the Systam Hip Abduction Wedge has a number of different functions. For those with cerebral palsy as well as patients who are recovering from hip or lower limb surgery, it stops the new hip from dislocating, while also assisting with recovery and re-development of flexibility. Who Can Benefit From Using the System Wedge?

There are a number of different groups who use this hip abduction wedge. Post-op hip surgery patients use it to keep the new hip in place, while older patients, or those who are bed bound or sedentary, take advantage of the flexibility of this tool, using it to reposition their lower body to spread weight and pressure around the body.

Treatment Tool For Cerebral Palsy 

The hip abduction wedge can also be used to treat children with cerebral palsy and other physical and neurological disabilities. Placed between the legs, it restricts instincts to cross the legs over which can have harmful consequences, of either dislocating the hip or impinging development of the adductor muscles.
