What Is the Elise 2 Pelvic Floor Exerciser?

An easy-to-use rechargeable device, the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser utilises a range of clinically-tested programmes that combine the benefits of traditional pelvic floor workouts and electrical stimulation. A safe, drug-free, non-surgical solution, the Elise 2 Exerciser provides relief from stress, urged and mixed incontinence, as well as improving your sexual wellbeing.

Why Should You Use a Pelvic Floor Trainer Device?

Pelvic floor exercisers and trainers are scientifically proven to be the most effective way of dealing with issues with incontinence. Moreover, one in three women do not know how, or are unable to voluntarily activate their pelvic floor, and pelvic floor exercisers allow women to actually notice and control their pelvic floor, leading to improved sexual sensations.

How Does the Elise 2 Pelvic Floor Device Work?

The Elise 2 sends a gentle electrical signal to your pelvic floor through a vaginal probe, which stimulates the pelvic floor muscle and exercises it for you. Along with traditional pelvic floor exercises, the Elise Exerciser gently strengthens and tones your pelvic floor muscle, which in turn improves the symptoms of bladder weakness (incontinence).

How Quickly Can I Expect to See Results?

We recommend using the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser for 20 minutes a day, for a period of 12 weeks. If used as instructed, many users see improvements within as little as three to four weeks.

Who Is the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser Device For?

The Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser provides a discreet, affordable and long-term solution for incontinence sufferers. It provides relief from three forms of incontinence:

  • Stress Incontinence: The involuntary leakage of urine when a person coughs, sneezes, strains or makes sudden movements. It is particularly common in women and occurs when the bladder neck and the other mechanisms that act to hold urine in the bladder are not working properly.
  • Urge Incontinence: A person may experience a strong and sudden urge to go to the toilet but are not always able to hold on, or have to go so frequently that it becomes inconvenient.
  • Mixed Incontinence: Combination of both Stress and Urge Incontinence.

Can I Use the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser If I Can't Do My Pelvic Floor Exercises or Kegels?

The pelvic floor exerciser is an excellent solution for you if you're unable to do pelvic floor exercises on your own. Research has shown that approximately 30% of women who experience incontinence are unable to voluntarily contract the pelvic floor muscle, and require additional assistance to aid their pelvic floor training.

How Do I Use the Elise Pelvic Floor Toner?

The Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser is very easy to use. Just follow these six simple steps:

  1. Connect the unit with the vaginal probe.
  2. Insert the vaginal probe.
  3. Press and hold the ON button to switch the device on.
  4. Select the desired programme by pressing the button P.
  5. Regulate the output intensity with the + and - buttons.
  6. Press and hold the OFF button to switch the device off.

What Strength Should I Use to See Improvement?

  1. The stronger the contraction, the more exercise you do and the faster the muscle will increase in strength.
  2. The sensory nerves are more sensitive than the motor nerves, so you will need to feel the stimulation quite strongly to be sure to exercise the muscle properly.
  3. In principle, you should turn up the strength as high as you can stand it.
  4. A good level at which to start your first session would be when you feel the muscle to start to pull upwards.
  5. When you're first starting, it's best to set the strength quite high, but limit the length of the session to five or ten minutes.

What Position Is Best When Using the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser?

You can use the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser is any position, but users usually find it most comfortable reclining on the sofa or lying in bed with the knees slightly drawn up. It's important to find a comfortable position before beginning your 20-minute sessions.

What Are the Advantages of Using the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser?

Using the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser can complement your current pelvic floor exercises, or replace them entirely if you're unable to do pelvic floor exercises on your own. It has all the benefits of traditional Kegels, but is easier, safer and more efficient to use:

  • It can reduce leakage, and not simply contain it. Most women see results in as little as three weeks
  • It is drug-free with no side effects
  • It is safe and easy to use with pre-set programmes to suit your needs
  • It is discreet and can be used at home during your own time
  • It may help to avoid surgery altogether
  • It may improve sexual intimacy by toning your pelvic floor

Who Can't Use the Elise 2 Pelvic Floor Exerciser?

While the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser is safe to use for most healthy people, certain medical conditions can be made worse by using the exerciser. Do not use the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser if you:

  • Have a heart pacemaker or a heart rhythm problem
  • Are pregnant
  • Have been diagnosed or treated for cervical, or any pelvic, cancer
  • Have, or have had epilepsy
  • Have had surgery in the area within the past 12 weeks

Why Can't I Use the Elise Pelvic Floor Exerciser If I've Been Diagnosed with Cervical Cancer?

No research has been published showing the effects of electric current on malignant or pre-cancerous cells, however current professional advice is that electrotherapy should not be used on malignant tissue. If you are unsure, please consult a medical professional.

How Do I Care for My Elise Pelvic Floor Machine?

It's important that the probe is cleaned after each use:

  1. Clean it with either an alcohol-free antibacterial wipe, or by washing it with warm soapy water.
  2. Rinse and dry thoroughly and then return the unit to the storage pouch.
  3. Do not immerse your Elise unit in water
  4. Do not use any other cleaning substance
