Tilting Mobile Base for the P-Pod Positioning Support Chair
The Tilting Mobile Base is an enhanced version of the standard P-Pod Mobile Base, designed to ease the manoeuvrability of the P-Pod Positioning Support Chair. It combines a wheeled base with braking castors, cushioned handles, and angle adjustability for safer and easier relocation.
What's Included?
Please note that the image above shows the Mobile Base in use with a P-Pod chair. This is for illustrative purposes only; the P-Pod Support Chair must be purchased separately.
Which Size of P-Pod Tilting Mobile Base Do I Need?
The Mobile Base is sized to fit each P-Pod chair by size. It is available for P-Pod chair sizes 3 to 6; please select the size that corresponds to your P-Pod in the drop-down link at the top of the page.
Who Can Use the P-Pod Mobile Base?
As the P-Pod has been designed for use by children and adults with disabilities, it is possible that family, carers, or therapists may need to relocate the chair frequently between rooms. When used in a clinic or educational setting, the chair may also only be required intermittently, and as such it is important that it can be moved easily.
The wheels on the mobile base make it easier for you to move around the chair without needing to lift it. The cushioned handles make it more comfortable to manoeuvre, and the locking castors and tilting mechanism improve safety.
How Safe Is the Mobile Base?
As the Mobile Base is wheeled, it must always be used while the P-Pod is supervised. It features front locking castors to ensure that it cannot move on its own, and the tilting mechanism allow the angle to be adjusted to a more practical position.
