How Does the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace Prevent Sprains and Rollovers?
This ankle support features a sleek stabiliser that goes from one side of your ankle to the other, resting comfortably under the arch of your foot. The proprioceptive nature of the brace means you are more subconsciously aware of where you are placing your foot, reducing the risk of further injury.
Unlike traditional ankle supports, which are often designed with a 90° angle, the A60 supports the ankle at 60°. This is akin to the angle of your foot during activities, making the A60 Ankle Support ideal for preventing sprains and ankle rollover during sports.
Which Conditions Does the Aircast A60 Work to Prevent?
With a flexible and lightweight foundation, the Aircast A60 works to stabilise the ankle at a 60° angle. Please see below for a list of conditions and symptoms the Aircast A60 can help alleviate:
- Ankle Instability

What If My A60 Feels Too Tight?
If you find your Aircast A60 Brace fits too tightly, we recommend you try adjusting your brace by moving the fabric further up the foot until it looks in line with the fit pictured in the image below:
Can I Wear the Aircast A60 with an Existing Sprain?
The Aircast A60 Brace is designed to provide prophylactic protection and support, preventing injured ankles before they occur. This preventative ankle brace is therefore not suitable for wearing while you are suffering from an existing ankle sprain.
Can I Wear the A60 Ankle Support On Either Foot?
As the Aircast Ankle Brace features an anatomical shape to fit with the curves of your ankle, it should be worn only on the specified foot.
Can I Wear This Brace on Both Ankles?
Yes! If you have previously suffered sprains on both ankles and wish to protect against a similar injury in the future, then wearing an A60 on each ankle is a good measure to prevent against sprains and ankle rollover.
Will the A60 Brace Fit Inside My Normal Shoes?
With a low-profile design that doesn’t bulk out your footwear, you can wear the A60 Ankle Support inside virtually any trainer, football boot, hiking boot or shoe. As you can see from the image below, the brace contours to your ankle shape without excessive bulk, making sure it won’t compromise your footwear and your comfort.
How Comfortable Is It?
This stabilising ankle brace is an incredibly comfortable and lightweight ankle support! The stabiliser rests snugly under the arch of your foot without adding any bulk to your shoes, and the curved stabilisers conform to the natural shape of your foot for improved comfort.
Do I Wear Socks with the Aircast A60 Ankle Brace?
It’s best to wear the Aircast A60 brace on top of a sock. Not only will this make it more comfortable, but it will also prevent it from moving around while you’re active. There’s no need to compromise your warmth while playing sports outdoors!
How Does the A60 Stay In Place?
As the A60 Ankle Support wraps under the arch of the foot, anchoring the support in the correct position, the ankle brace is prevented from migrating up the leg during use. This means that the brace reduces the risk of the brace moving out of its correct position and limits the time you need to spend repositioning the brace during sport or activity.
