Aircast Cold Therapy Thigh Cryo/Cuff
Due to the large nature of the thigh muscle, injuries are relatively rare, however when they do strike, they can cause severe pain and even complete immobility. What is far more common however, are aches, discomfort and minor strains.
Whether you're fatigued, recovering from a strain or tear, or looking to speed up recovery following a heavy bout of exercise, the Aircast Cold Therapy Thigh Cryo/Cuff is ideal for quickening your rate of recovery and preventing pain and discomfort becoming permanent.

How Do I Use the Cryo/Cuff?
For a step-by-step guide about how to prepare, apply and use the cuff, please follow the instructions below:
Step One: Prepare the Cooler
Firstly, connect the blue tube to the cooler, filling the cooler to the line with water. Top with ice and place the insulating disc on top. Shut the lid of the cooler and allow up to five minutes for the water to cool.
Step Two: Apply the Cuff
Position the cuff on the thigh with the quick disconnect valve pointing downwards. Thread the straps through the white rings provided and tighten to your comfort to secure. (See figure 1).
Step Three: Fill the Cuff
Start by connecting the blue tube to the cuff. If you are using the standard Aircast Cold Therapy Cooler, open the air vent located on the lid of the cooler and raise the cooler so that it is no more than fifteen inches above the height of the cuff. (See figure 2).
Hold the cooler in this position for around thirty seconds until the cuff is filled. Close the air vent on the cooler lid and press the metal tab to release the cuff.
Step Four: Rechill Water
To rechill the water after use, start by reconnecting the blue tube to the cuff. Position the cooler below the cuff to allow the water to drain from the cuff, back into the cooler. Give up to two minutes for the water to chill before refilling the cuff.
For further information about the cuff and how to use it, please see the manual below:
Use Skin Protection While Using the Cuff
At no time during treatment should the skin and cuff be in direct contact. In order to use this device safely, you must wrap the skin of the affected area with a cloth or bandage before using the cuff. This will create a bridge between the skin and the cuff and avoid risk of skin burn.
How Long Should I Keep the Cuff on For?
It is recommended that you use the cuff for no longer than two hours at a time. You must also leave a period of at least twenty minutes between uses.
How Do I Clean the Cuff?
To keep the cuff clean between uses, simply hand wash with soap and hot water before rinsing and leaving to air dry. This process can be used to clean the blue tube and the cooler units also.
