How to Get the Most Out of Your Aircast IC Cooler Unit

We have found that the quality of therapy provided by the IC Cooler increases when a large amount of ice is added to your cooler. To get the most out of your Cooler Unit, we recommend filling your IC tank with as much ice as possible in order to keep the temperature as low as possible and maximise the quality of treatment received.

Learn More About the Cold Therapy Cryo/Cuff Cooler

To find out more about the cooler and how to use it, please watch this short video:

Why Is Cryotherapy Useful in Treating Injury?

When you are injured, using cryotherapy to treat injury can produce a number of benefits that help ease your recovery. Not only will cold compression therapy help to alleviate pain and swelling, but it will also help stimulate blood flow throughout the affected area. Using this form of treatment can also yield faster recovery times, meaning you can get back to health quickly and safely.

How Does the Aircast Automatic Cryo/Cuff Compress?

Once you have plugged your unit in to the mains, you will hear the internal motor start up and power down every thirty seconds. Once attached correctly, your Cryo/Cuff will follow this cycle, providing intermittent compression every thirty or so seconds.

How Do I Use the Cooler?

To prepare the cooler, connect the blue tube to the cooler and fill with cold water to the line provided. Add ice and place the insulation disk on top before attaching the cooler lid and closing shut. (See figure 1).

Aircast Cold Therapy Cryo/Cuff Cooler

Allow up to five minutes for the water to chill, shaking the cooler occasionally. This will enable you to begin cryotherapy treatment with your chosen Cryo/Cuff device.

Aircast Cold Therapy Automatic Cryo/Cuff Cooler
26 October 2024  |  Julian

This is a must have after knee surgeries.
Arthroscopy on both knees in the past and recently full knee replacement on left.
The cheaper version is gravity fed to fill the cuff and you can cycle the cold water but it’s a faff.
With this just put a flexipac (ice pack) in the cooler, fill the cuff by raising the cooler above the cuff, pop the cuff on and the unit will continually cycle the cold water and pressurise the cuff.
It’s brilliant for relieving pain and reducing swelling.
When it stops being cold just power off and swap the ice pack in the cooler when you’re ready to go again.
Wish I’d purchased before, highly recommended kit!

Automatic Cooler
12 October 2023  |  Edward

This had to be purchased as, whilst I left hospital with the cuff, there was no way to fill it and use it for its intended purpose. The hospital advised just to put the cuff in the fridge (not the freezer) but that really made no difference, so the automatic cooler was ordered and it does exactly what it's meant to do. Very quick and efficient service and a worthwhile product that may well see some use in the future on other areas!

Fantastic automatic icing device
26 February 2023  |  Enrico

This device made miracles for my son's knee after an ACL surgery. It compresses the knee and also cools it but without going too cold, hence avoinding frostbites issues of other icing methods. It also last a lot longer and is very efficient at pushing the swelling away. Fantastic product and very reasonable value for money. Very highly recommended, particularly the automatic version we used.
