About the Cardiff Acuity Test
The Cardiff Acuity Test is a testing method developed to assess low vision in toddlers, as well as older children and adults with intellectual impairment. It provides a means to diagnose individuals that are otherwise difficult to test - either due to age or developmental issues - enabling visual impairment to be diagnosed and managed.
During the Cardiff Acuity Test, the examiner shows the patient a series of cards with images that will be familiar to them. The test uses a technique called Preferential Looking to assess the vision level of the patient. This tried-and-tested method enables accurate testing of otherwise hard-to-test patients because it relies on observing the eye movements of the patient, rather than requiring recognition of the image or any answers.
The Cardiff Acuity Test for Low Vision Add-On Cards
This supplementary pack is designed to be used to upgrade the 36-card Cardiff 4740R Standard Acuity Test to the testing range covered by the Cardiff Acuity Test For Low Vision. This upgrade adds nine cards to the standard kit, increasing the testing parameter to 30 levels (when used at both distances), and extending acuity testing levels up to 20/640 (6/192). Two additional dividers are also supplied with this pack of supplementary cards.
Please note that these are add-on cards only. The Cardiff Acuity Test for Low Vision must be purchased separately.
