Sizing Tips
- If your thigh, knee and calf measurements don't match up, we recommend choosing your size based on your Knee Centre Circumference measurement
- If you do not have a flexible tape measure use a piece of string to measure your knee and then measure the string with a ruler
- If your joints swell or atrophy, please take this into account when choosing your size
Should I Choose Short or Standard Length?
There are two length options available for the Full Force Knee Brace. These options are:
- Short: Includes a shorter calf area that stops further up your calf. This is ideal for those using their brace with ski boots, skates, or other equipment that requires calf space.
- Standard: Includes a standard calf section that goes further down the calf. This may provide a more secure feel, but both length options will provide the same high level of support.
What Is the Difference Between the Short and Standard Versions?
Both versions of the Donjoy Full Force Knee Brace feature a section that is 8" in length from the top of the brace down to the knee section. The difference is the short version has a knee to calf length of 6.5" and the standard has a knee to calf length of 8".

What Is the Four-Points-of-Leverage System?
Through the rigid cuff and strap configuration made by the Four Points of Leverage, a posterior force is applied to the tibia to prevent anterior movement. This is clinically-proven to significantly reduce ACL strain and provide a constant dynamic load on the joint for improved stability and support.
The Four Points of Leverage are spread out across the brace for better balance
- Posterior calf cuff keeps the tibia anchored
- Anterior thigh cuff keeps the femur anchored
- Lower thigh strap pushes the femur anteriorly
- Anterior tibia strap applies an active constant load to prevent tibia translation
What Is FourcePoint Hinge Technology?
The Full Force Knee Brace combines two clinically proven Donjoy technologies in one high-performing brace. Using Four-Points-of-Leverage stabilises the ligament and significantly reduces ACL strain. Donjoy’s FourcePoint hinge dampens knee-joint extension, which increases flexion angles and reduces anterior shear forces on the tibia.
Passive vs. Dynamic Braces
There are two approaches to the design of a knee brace: passive and dynamic supports. Passive brace designs don’t actively address instabilities, which allows the knee to move before the brace can take effect and therefore results in a greater chance of injury.
Conversely, Donjoy’s dynamic Four-Points-of-Leverage design continually addresses instabilities at all times, whether you're running, jumping or standing. This prevents injuries while also allowing you to maintain an active lifestyle.
Standard Polycentric vs. FourcePoint
Most functional braces incorporate standard polycentric hinges that connect the thigh and calf frames through multi-centred pivot points. This attempts to mimic the knee’s natural movements.
On the other hand, Donjoy has taken the hinge design and ACT protection to another level with its patented FourcePoint technology. FourcePoint is the only hinge design that’s clinically proven to protect the ACL by reducing the amount of time spent in the "at-risk" position. That’s confidence every athlete can count on!
Can I Use My Donjoy Full Force Brace In Water?
You can use your DJO Full Force Knee Brace in water if required, however the Velcro material will deteriorate over time due to chlorine or salt-water exposure. To correctly care for your brace following exposure to water, flush hinges out with fresh water after use before leaving the brace to air dry.
Does the Full Force Knee Brace Have Spring Loaded Support?
The Full Force Knee Brace is designed to stabilise the ligament and significantly reduce ACL strain by dampening knee-joint extensions, which increases flexion angles and reduces anterior shear forces on the tibia. It does not, however, feature spring loaded support.
How Do I Care for the Donjoy Full Force Knee Brace?
To maintain good levels of hygiene, we recommend cleaning the Donjoy Full Force Knee Brace regularly. The liners and condyle pads can be hand washed in cool water (30°C/86°F) using mild soap, and air dried. Do not heat dry liners or pads.
