How Can This Skeleton Foot Model Support Anatomy Study?
The Erler-Zimmer Foot Skeleton Model offers a highly detailed and anatomically accurate foot skeleton part, for the most accurate of teaching and studying of the human foot and ankles bones. The foot is made from durable synthetic material that feels life-like, and is designed to last.
Anatomically Accurate
An anatomically accurate model, the Erler-Zimmer Skeleton Foot Model allows for the study of all the following bones:
- Talus - the bone on top of the foot that forms a joint with the two bones of the lower leg, the tibia and fibula
- Calcaneus - lies beneath the talus to form the heel bone, and is the largest bone of the foot
- Tarsals - five irregularly shaped bones of the midfoot that form the foot's arch. The tarsal bones are the cuboid, navicular and medial, intermediate and lateral cuneiforms
- Metatarsals - five bones that make up the forefoot
- Phalanges - the 14 bones that make up the toes. The big toe consists of two phalanges – the distal and proximal. The other toes have three
- Sesamoids - two small, pea-shaped bones that lie beneath the head of the first metatarsal in the ball of the foot
Includes Lower Fibula and Tibia
As an addition, this Erler-Zimmer Skeleton Foot Model features the lower parts of the fibula and tibia, that are attached to the foot. All natural movements of the foot, ankle, and toes can be studied on this lower limb anatomy model, making it useful for supporting trainee doctors in their studies, or physiotherapists.
Is this Skeleton Foot Model Flexible?
Although this model is mounted on wire, flexibility is limited on this model. If a flexible skeleton foot model is required for the demonstration of foot movements, please see the Erler-Zimmer Flexible Foot Skeleton Model with Ankle.
