  • Post-Operative Recovery
  • Trauma
  • Post-Injury Swelling
  • Inflammation
  • Rehabilitation
  • General Haemarthrosis
  • Sporting Injuries
  • Sprains and Strains

Who Can Use the Promedics Cryotherapy Cooler?

The Promedics Cooler provides cold compression therapy to treat injury related symptoms like pain and swelling by delivering targeted relief straight to your injury. Ideal for those seeking an effective remedy at-home to accelerate recovery, reduce post-exercise swelling or simply relieve pain, such as athletes, the elderly or those undergoing post-operative recovery.

Why Is Cold Therapy Beneficial?

Cryotherapy helps to reduce discomfort and swelling, while also improving blood flow throughout the affected area. This is particularly useful if you have suffered from an injury or have undergone surgery and require targeted pain relief without the use of painkillers. Using cold therapy to treat injury also yields quicker healing times, meaning you can get back to your daily activities in no time.

How Does the Cryotherapy Cooler System Work?

The Promedics Cryo Cold Therapy System works by exchanging ice cold water between the cooler and wrap using gravity. Simply hold the cooler, connected by a tube to an anatomically-specific wrap, above the wrap and allow the water to provide cold and compression therapy.

How Do I Use the Cryotherapy Cooler System?

The Promedics Cooler System has been designed with simplicity in mind, delivered with a step by step guide to ensure usage is seamless and hassle-free. You an also follow these instructions to set up your cooler and begin your cryotherapy.

  1. To prepare the cooler, fill it with water to the 'Water Min' mark and ice to the 'Ice Max' line.
  2. Place the insulation disk on top of the ice and attach the cooler lid with the vent closed.
  3. Allow a few minutes to chill the water and apply the wrap with the insulation barrier between the skin and wrap.
  4. Connect the tube to the wrap, open the air vent on the cooler and raise it no more than 40cm above the wrap for 30 seconds.
  5. You will begin to feel the wrap fill with chilled water. Once filled, close the air vent on the cooler and remove the tube.

How Long Can I Use the Cryotherapy Cooler System For?

It is not recommended to use the Cryotherapy Cooler System for longer than 30 minute cold therapy sessions at a time. In a two hour period, it should not be used for more than 30 minutes sessions. Ensure the skin is checked every hour on a routine basis to prevent skin damage.

Combine Cold and Compression Therapy to Accelerate Recovery

Both compression therapy and cold therapy are common approaches to rehabilitation and recovery for tissue damage or injury. By combining the two, the Promedics Cryo Cold Therapy System provides you with targeted relief designed to speed up the healing process and aid your body in restoring its full health.

Thermal Insulation Technology for 6 - 8 Hours of Therapy

Utilising thermal insulation enhanced technology with an insulation disc placed under the cooler lid and insulation barrier in between the wrap and skin, the Promedics Cryotherapy System reduces cooling loss and prevents heat entering the system, allowing it to stay cooler for longer.
