What Do the Foam Blocks Do?

The Rolyan Foam Blocks are an ideal option for diagnosing and treating a range of hand, forearm, ligament, muscle and tendon injuries. The set comes with four types of blocks that are colour-coded based on their resistance level.

Designed to build and measure strength through squeezing, they allow doctors and therapists to determine the user's progress, as well as allowing patients to progress as their strength improves. The foam blocks aim to ultimately relieve stiffness and pain, as well as aid upper-extremity recovery on a long-term basis.

What Conditions Can the Rolyan Blocks Help?

The Therapy Foam Blocks can be used to treat and diagnose a range of hand and upper-extremity conditions. Some suitable examples include:

  • Arthritis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Broken or sprained hands
  • Stiff joints
  • Muscle stiffness
  • Sarcopenia

What are the Different Resistance Levels?

The Foam Blocks for Therapy come in four resistance levels that are colour-coded for easy identification. This allows users to progress as they gain strength and gives doctors and therapists a better indication of their patient's capabilities.

You'll find each resistance level and its corresponding colour in the table below.

What Kind of Exercises Can You Do?

Coming in several resistance levels, doctors and therapists can use the coloured blocks for a range of hand exercises. These include:

  • Basic squeezing
  • Finger isolation squeeze
  • Thumb extensions
  • Finger spread
  • Finger curls
  • Wrist flexion/extension

Can You Wash the Foam Blocks?

Yes, you can. You can wash the Rolyan Blocks by hand using mild soap to reduce the risk spreading germs and bacteria. Once you've washed them, leave them to air-dry for best results.
