The SonoTrax 3MHz Doppler Probe is an additional waterproof Doppler probe for compatible SonoTrax Dopplers, most often used to determine fetal heart rate. By offering a different ultrasound frequency to your original probe, it opens up the possibility of carrying out a broader range of diagnostics.

Which SonoTrax Dopplers Can This Probe Be Used With?

This probe is compatible with the following ultrasound Doppler devices:

• The SonoTrax Pro Fetal Doppler – supplied with a 2MHz probe as standard
• The SonoTrax Vascular Doppler – supplied with a 4MHz probe as standard

Which SonoTrax Probes Are Available?

There are three additional SonoTrax Doppler probes available for purchase:

• The SonoTrax 3MHz Doppler Probe – generally used to measure fetal heart rate
• The SonoTrax 5MHz Doppler Probe – generally used in vascular diagnosis
• The SonoTrax 8MHz Doppler Probe – generally used in vascular diagnosis

When Can This Doppler Probe Be Used?

This waterproof 3MHz probe is primarily used to observe fetal heart rate. It can produce results as early as ten weeks into pregnancy.

Can This Probe Be Used for Vascular Diagnosis?

This 3MHz probe is generally not used for vascular diagnosis. For vascular diagnosis it is recommended to use one of the 5MHz or 8MHz probes. 

How Does an Ultrasound Doppler Work?

Ultrasound Dopplers measure blood flow by bouncing high-frequency ultrasound off of red blood cells. The Doppler Effect allows the device to produce an audio simulation of pulse rate, and to carry out other diagnostics. This is a non-invasive solution to performing these diagnostic tests.
