How Does This Cushion Provide Pressure Relief?
Weighing only 1.4kg, this cushion uses three distinct layers of StimuLite honeycomb, each of a different firmness, to enable bony protuberances of the body to sink freely into the 7cm thick cushion. The different honeycomb layers work together to support the surrounding anatomy, with the firmer honeycomb layer functioning as internal side bolsters. This provides superior lateral support and industry-leading comfort.
How Cool Is This Cushion?
The StimuLite Classic is designed for exceptional comfort from top to bottom, not only in its cushioning, but in its temperature control properties as well. In order to prevent the rises in temperature between the body and cushion that can exacerbate risks of pressure sores, this cushion is heavily ventilated throughout. That ventilation means that heat and moisture are controlled from beneath the user, providing even more comfort and peace of mind.
Can the Cushion Be Washed?

The cushion is washable with the use of a laundry bag, which is supplied with your cushion.
Should I Choose the Classic or Sling Version?
Your choice of the Classic or Sling option will depend on the wheelchair you intend to use the cushion in. Wheelchairs with firm seats will require the Classic cushion, while wheelchairs with sling or canvas seats will require the Sling version, which features a curved bottom to provide added stability.
Is This Cushion Supplied with a Cover?
Yes, all Stimulite cushions are supplied with a comfortable cover as standard. This cushion is made with breathable, two-way stretch fabric that is designed to move with the skin to reduce the shear and friction forces that can exacerbate pressure sore risk. This knitted fabric cover is antimicrobial, antifungal, and machine washable to ensure a high level of hygiene is maintained.

How Does StimuLite Honeycomb Work?
StimuLite cushions are made with a soft, flexible form of aerospace honeycomb that has 'memory', is lightweight, and distributes weight evenly along its surface. Its cellular matrix consists of alternating thick and thin walled cells that flex when compressed to relieve pressure. When a user sits on a StimuLite cushion, the compressed cells radiate outwards to surround and support the anatomy, self-adjusting to each individual and providing excellent stability.
How Breathable Are StimuLite Cushions?
StimuLite honeycomb features a unique ventilation system consisting of tiny perforations in the cell walls, allowing air to circulate both horizontally and vertically. This creates an ideal microclimate for long-term sitting comfort, helping to reduce sweat and moisture to minimise shear and friction forces on the skin. When adjusting to any new wheelchair cushion, you may find that your chair's back support feels slightly different, and you may require the use of an additional back support for maximum comfort.
