How Does the TumbleCare Alarm System Work?

The TumbleCare Alarm System consists of a chair pad, an alarm transmitter and a pager. The sensor detects when a patient leaves their chair and sends a radio signal to the pager via the control transmitter. The pager then alerts the carers that a patient is in need of assistance, ensuring they reach the patient in a timely fashion.

How Will the Pager Alert Me?

The pager has three different alarm settings. For use in quiet settings of in the presence of the patient, a quiet vibration setting can be used. To ensure the alarm is heard at other times, it can be set to a vibration with either a low or high toned audible alarm.

What Is the Range of the Transmitter Alarm?

Both the transmitter alarms and the pagers have a transmission range of 100m in open air. As this may be affected by indoor settings, it is recommended that the signal range is tested in different parts of the building prior to use.

Will the System Send An Immediate Alert?

The alarm transmitter can be set to respond immediately after a weight shift is detected, or after a delay of 15 or 30 minutes. The delayed settings can be used when the carer is still in the patient's presence, and then the system can be reset to monitor the patient while they are alone.

Is the Pager Easy To Carry?

The pager is fitted with a strong belt clip that makes it easy to transport and prevents it from being lost or misplaced. It is only 120g in weight, so will not cause any discomfort to the wearer.

How Big Is the Chair Sensor Pad?

The dimensions of the sensor pad are 380mm x 300mm x 8mm. This should fit most types of chairs without difficulty.

Can This System Monitor Several Patients at Once?

The TumbleCare pager can be paired with 8 separate alarm transmitters. It can therefore be used to monitor up to 8 patients, although additional monitors and sensors are required.
