With a unique nine compartment design, the Vector O2 provides the most stability out of all the Vicair wheelchair cushions. Each compartment is designed to influence a specific area of the pelvis, striking a unique balance between preserving skin at the ischials and coccyx by re-distributing pressures, stabilising the pelvis and positioning of the femurs.

Adjustable for Tailored Support
What's more is each compartment on this wheelchair cushion can be adjusted to tailor the cushion to specific user needs. The adjustable feature of this cushion will particularly benefit wheelchair users who require the following:
- Need correction or accommodation of an asymmetric pelvis.
- Want (partial) off-loading of the ischial and coccyx area.
- Need correction or accommodation for better thigh alignment. (e.g. abduction, one side foot propulsion, opening pelvic thigh angle)
How Does This Air Wheelchair Cushion Provide Support?
Each compartment in the Vicair O2 Cushion contains Vicair's special SmartCells technology, which works to provide optimal postural support as well as high-performance skin protection. When sat on the cushion the user is supported by hundreds of air-filled SmartCells which match the body's surface and adapts to postural changes through a combination of movements and deformation of the SmartCells.
Since SmartCells contain a sealed volume of air, they redistribute forces evenly and minimise peak pressures in high-risk areas. When loaded, SmartCells will deform and move, enabling immersion, envelopment and limiting shear and friction forces on the skin which are important factors that facilitate skin protection. Additionally, unlike inflatable air cushions, should some air cells fail, your skin integrity will not be immediately compromised.

Is The Vicair O2 Cushion for Wheelchairs Breathable?
Temperature and humidity at the skin’s surface can also influence the skin’s integrity, leaving it a risk of developing pressure injuries/sores, therefore keeping the skin dry and cool is recommended. For optimal protection the Vicair O2 Cushions is made of perforated material and has an open mesh bottom that allows excess moisture to drain away from the skin and air to flow so heat build-up is decreased.
Is A Taller/Thicker Cushion Available?

Lightweight and Low-Maintenance
This cushion is made to be easy to use and maintain, as it is lightweight and the SmartCells can be independently replaceable if damaged. Once the cushion has been adjusted to the client's needs, there is little intervention required, meaning less disruption for the patient and carer. The cushion is simple to transfer from chair to chair, making it ideal for active clients.
Can I Wash The Vicair O2 Wheelchair Cushion for Pressure Relief and Stability?
Yes, all cushions within the Vicair O2 range including the Vicair Vector O2 are perforated allowing you to fully machine wash the cushion up to 60°C. the SmartCells inside the cushion do not need to be removed when machine washing for convenience.
