What's So Special About the Aircast AirLift?
The Aircast AirLift PTTD Brace is designed and manufactured against a versatile design that maximises the stabilisation and treatment of the posterior tibial tendon to prevent the onset of PTTD. This versatile, anatomically correct design and intuitive Integrated Inflation System (IIS) allows the user to customise the air brace's air cell to help lift the foot arch into a more natural position.
What is PTTD?
Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, also known as posterior tibial tendonitis, is a condition that impairs the posterial tibial tendon's ability to support the arch of the foot. This results in flattening of the foot, and if left untreated can lead to the development of adult acquired flatfoot, accompanied by pain, swelling and inward rolling of the foot (pronation).
A supportive brace like the Aircast AirLift as an ideal non-invasive treatment, helping to support your arches to normalise your walking pattern to avoid pain.

How Durable is the Aircell?
The inflatable aircell in this PTTD Ankle Brace is highly durable, and should be able to withstand enough pressure to support virtually any user. In fact, the aircell has been tested to withstand 2000lbs of pressure at a time.
Can I Wear the PTTD Brace with Shoes?
This PTTD Brace is designed to fit into your shoes, but when the aircell is inflated it may make the fit of your regular shoes very tight. We would recommend that you fully loosen your shoes before putting your foot in with the ankle brace, and then lace up your shoes once your foot fits in. In some cases, it may be more comfortable to use a slightly larger or looser trainer or tennis shoe in place of your usual footwear.
Is the Aircast PTTD Brace Suitable for Lateral Sprains?
The PTTD brace provides mild stability and ligament support as a secondary feature, making it suitable for use with minor ankle injuries. The brace is primarily designed to help with posterior tibial tendon dysfunction.
