Where Can I Use the Cuff?
The Calf Cryo/Cuff is anatomically designed for use on the calf. This can include use on and around the calf to help ease pain and discomfort in that area.
Provides up to Eight Hours of Cold Therapy
The Aircast Cold Therapy Cooler Unit is constructed to hold the water and ice required for up to eight hours of cryotherapy. This means you can use the support for long periods of time to adequately reduce discomfort and swelling in the calf area.
Gravity-Fed System
The Gravity Cold Therapy Unit is designed to be as easy to use as possible. The device has been crafted so you can adjust the level of compression provided by the cuff simply by adjusting the position of the cooler. When connected to the Calf Cryo/Cuff, the cooler unit can be raised or lowered to alter the level of compression you're given.
Which Size Cuff Should I Choose?
The Calf Cold Therapy Cryo/Cuff is supplied in a universal size that will cover 10 inches of calf length and is suitable for most adults. As the wrap can be adjusted to more properly fit your anatomy, it provides you with a tailored fit.
How Do I Use the Cuff?
Step One: Prepare Cooler
Fill the cooler with water and add ice to the top. Connect the blue tube and position the insulation disk on top of the ice before closing the lid. Allow five minutes for the water to chill, shaking the cooler occasionally.
Step Two: Apply the Cuff
Position the cuff around the calf and fasten, feeding the thread straps through the white rings to secure (see figure 1).
Step Three: Fill Cuff
Connect the blue tube to the cooler, opening the cooler air vent. Raise the cooler no more than 15 inches above the cuff and hold for around thirty seconds while the cuff fills with water and close the cooler air vent. Disconnect the cuff from the cooler by pressing the metal tab to use cuff independently (see figure 2).
Step Four: Rechill Water
Reconnect the blue tube to the cuff, holding the cuff above the cooler to allow it to drain. Allow two minutes for the water to rechill. Raise the cooler and repeat the filling process.
For more information on how to use the cuff, please see the manual below:
How Long Should I Use the Cryo/Cuff For?
You can use the cuff for up to two hours per session. We recommend that you leave at least twenty minutes between treatments.
Do I Need to Protect My Skin During Treatment?
Yes, we recommend that you wrap the skin of the affected area loosely with a cloth or bandage before use, to create a barrier between the cuff and skin. At no point should the cuff be in direct contact with the skin.
How Do I Clean the Cryo/Cuff?
To clean, drain the cuff of water and wash with soap and hot water. Repeat this a few times before cleaning with hot water only. Rinse completely and leave to air dry. This process can be used to clean both the cooler and the tube units also.
