Why Choose the Evac+Chair 300H MK5 Evacuation Chair?
This chair is the lightest evacuation chair from Evac+Chair, making it their best option for one-person operation. It's designed to help the operator handle the patient's weight as smoothly as possible, with secure grips and a unique friction track that slows the chair as it moves down stairs to provide a comfortable descent. With a maximum payload of 182kg, this chair is an ideal option for all emergency stairs descents for almost any patient type.
What Is the 300H MK5 Chair For?
The Evac+Chair is a simple evacuation chair that can seat one person, while another person operates the chair using the double handed grip at the back. The evacuation chair can be used to transport people with disabilities from a building in case of an emergency. Designed to be easy to use, operate and store, this chair is suitable for schools, offices, public centres, leisure centres, shopping centres and more.
How Do I Use the Evac+Chair MK5 Evacuation Chair?
One person can easily operate this chair to evacuate a single patient (up 182kg in weight) down stairs. Secure the patient using the two straps, and keep a firm hold of the double hand grip at the rear of the chair. Tilt the chair back, and push confidently until the friction track is making contact with the two top stairs. Then, the braking friction track will make contact with each successive stair, slowing the descent of the chair to prevent the need for excessive force to be used by the operator.
Unique Friction Belt for Smooth Descent
The friction belt system separates this chair from other lightweight single-user chairs, as it actually provides a constant braking mechanism that will guide the chair down stairs for a smooth traversal. It will stay in contact contact with the stairs as you move, helping to compensate for those with less strength than others. This allows the user to guide the direction of the chair, rather than having to hold the entire weight at any point.
The dotted lines show the smooth motion of the friction track as it descends
Where Can the Evac+Chair Be Used?
The Evac+Chair 300H Evacuation Chair can be used across a wide range of places, especially where people gather. It can ensure that people with mobility impairment can quickly evacuate a building in case of an emergency. Suitable places include:
- Schools
- Universities
- Colleges
- Offices
- Public centres
- Leisure centres
- Shopping centres
Two Straps and Foot Grip for Patient Safety
To accommodate patients with severe injuries or lower levels of motor control, the chair features two straps: a safety belt and an integrated head rest strap. This will keep the patient upright in the correct position, while ensuring the weight load maintains in a stable and consistent position for easier manoeuvring. The anti-slip grip also allows the patient to secure themselves during the descent for even more stability and peace of mind.
The patient can secure themselves with the anti-slip foot grips during the descent
Redesigned Hammock
The hammock seat has been improved from previous designs, making it more comfortable for the patient, as well as more compact when stored away. The material used in the hammock and headrest are both comfortable and hard-wearing, ensuring they will be ready for effective evacuations when needed.
