What Is a Knee Immobiliser?
Knee immobilisers are removable devices that maintain stability of the knee. Knee immobilisers are typically used for injuries that benefit from keeping the knee locked in one place for brief periods without long-term immobilisation and thus do not require casting.
What Is a Three-Panel Knee Immobiliser Used For?
The Jura Three-Panel Knee Immobiliser can be used for injuries resulting from tibial plateau fractures, meniscal repairs, patella tendon repairs, and acute sprains or strains of the knee joint. The knee brace is designed to lock the knee in extension and prevent motion of the joint.
Is it Ok to Walk With the Knee Immobiliser?
The Jura Knee Immobiliser can be used when you get out of bed and walk. The brace is set for full extension (straight), allowing you to put your full weight on your operated leg while wearing the immobiliser. You should use the crutches if you need extra support when you are walking.
How Comfortable Is the Jura Medical Knee Brace?
Alongside the foam laminate, the immobiliser also features an incredibly soft terry towel lining. This helps to reduce friction and deliver comfortable wear for as long as the immobiliser is needed.
